Haven contemplates the idea of retreat and protection, enclosing the subject in a fragile refuge against the storm. The glass dome creates a surreal tension between safety and isolation, while the lush interior contrasts with the stark, desolate surroundings. As with much of my work, the piece balances the ordinary with the uncanny, inviting the viewer to question what is shelter and what is confinement.
